Research interests
My scientific passion is for soft matter and “biology as condensed matter”. I view complex matter from the perspective of the simple microscopic constituents in a fluid medium that conspire to create a nonlinear and often dynamic situation. I see this as the most satisfying way of understand soft matter.
My work is on the design of coarse-grained, mesoscopic algorithms for efficiently simulating complex and out-of-equilibrium biological systems. We seek to use such simulations to understand active, coherent flows within intracellular environments and of many moving cells.
